It's been a hectic haliday season so far here at Bolder Creek Farm. We got 3 feet of snow just in the last week! It seems like all we do lately is plow and shovel snow so we can do all our farm chores! The second stallion pasture is finally finished and we're getting close to having the master bedroom finished as well. Done with fencing for the winter (unless a tree happens to fall on it) but there's still lots of work to do on the house. Hopefully we'll be able to start on the downstairs bathroom!
Have a safe and happy holiday season!

We have switched gears with our rabbits towards a breed that would work better for meat as well as pets/breeding/show. Our American Chinchilla's have arrived!

Due to heavy logging in our area this last year Deer Creek has flooded and washed out Hesseltine Rd and most of Deer Creek Rd. For those of you doing shipped semen or hauling into the farm for breeding this year please bear with us throughout this time. As of now Deer Creek Rd. is still somewhat passable, Hesseltine is not (pictured below). We will keep you updated if anything changes.

Things have definately been crazy the last little while with the nicer weather and getting everything in order with the farm's name change. Congratulations to Dennis Bryans on the purchase of Mystik Dreemr (RF Kahiil X MH Laskas Joy)! She will make a wonderful addition to the breeding/showing program of BNT Arabians! RF Laylah has started her training and is taking it like the champion she is! She says "It's no big deal, this kind of stuff is fun!" She's definitely taken to her saddle training like she's been doing it for years!
We have finally found a colt to be our purebred Arabian stallion. He is by National Champion, Star Ghazal (by Gazal Al Shaqab) and out of a Fame VF daughter, JDM Famarra. KS Starstruck Gazal is following in his sire and dam's footsteps as he's already brought home a Top 10 in the Region V Championships as a yearling in halter! We will be planning a trip here soon to pick him up and bring him home. I want to thank Khemostar Arabians for the opportunity to purchase this amazing colt! Be sure to check back to see him on our Stallions page!

As much as I wish spring was here winter is still trying to hold us in her grips. We definately have less snow than in December or January but it's no where near gone yet. Jason and I were married February 9th. It was a nice, small, quiet wedding with just his parents and mine at the courthouse. Bear, our little pomeranian, turned 20 on Valentines Day, quite the big acheivement for the little girl! Jewel has pulled through this winter better than expected after the condition she came to us in last spring and Laylah is adjusting to her new life over here great! She's now the new alpha mare out there with the rest of them!
With spring coming we will both have busier work schedules, both at the farm and at work, with more fences to build, horses to condition for the show and trail season, horses to start under saddle, and hopefully more of our rescue horses will be ready to put up for adoption. Be sure to check the For Sale page for updates as sales will start picking up more as we get into the better weather.
Spring also means breeding season and Rush is definately saying "Bring on the girls!".

Whew! It is now December and things are still busy as ever! We got the water lines and power put in and the round pen set up just in time. Snow was starting to fall the last night we were working on the round pen. Rush's field is still not finished so the round pen will be his home for the winter.
We drove over to visit my family the weekend before Thanksgiving and came back to a couple inches of snow here at home. We got dupmed on the week of Thanksgiving, adding around 12 more inches by the time the storm passed. All the while the tractor was broke down so we weren't able to plow the driveway (suprisingly my little Subaru still made it in and out the driveway without getting high centered at all). We're down to around a foot now after some melt off it's done the last couple days. Just got the tractor running again today so plowing and feeding horses won't be such a big stress on both of us now (660lb round bales aren't so easy to move once they've settled into the stack). Mom, Autumn, Keila, and Paula will be coming to visit after Christmas for a few days, I'm really suprised they want to try to brave the driving conditions not being used to all the snow, but I'm definitley looking forward to it!
We'll be having a new arrival this coming within the next month or so. We have purchased the two year old filly RF Laylah from Khemostar Arabians. She is a sweepstakes nominated Marwan Al Shaquab and Ray Dor Echo grandaughter with many other greats also in her pedigree. I would like to thank Khemostar for the once in a lifetime chance to own this filly!

The two boarding and training horses went home on the first of October and we were able to bring Khopper and Mystik back home. Khopper will be leaving this coming weekend, Dennis and Jana will be here tomorrow afternoon. It'll be nice to see both of them again, I haven't seen them since I moved and with how busy I've been getting stuff done here and they've been buying a new place we haven't had much of a chance to talk all that much. We probably won't this weekend either though. Jason and I are renting the excavator this weekend to put in the water and power to the lower field. By the sounds of the weather report we'll be playing in the mud all weekend!
